If you have ever nursed a baby into toddlerhood, or have nursed a younger child around their older siblings then odds are your child has imitated you breastfeeding. Maybe they even tried to use your breast pump! There's nothing cuter than a sweet, innocent little girl or boy pretending to feed babies the way nature intended! Enjoy these fan photos and if you would like your own included please e-mail it to: bfingpics@gmail.com
"The picture is of my daughter Jaemara who I breastfed until she was just over 2. She was still being B/F at the time of the picture and I was pregnant with her younger brother."
Casidee, 2 1/2, nursing Snow White!
"3 year old Madeline phones home"
"Sophie nursing her twin babies :) She was almost 2 years old here." - Lauren, Moderator of our facebook page
"The child in the picture is my third and his name is Jacob. He was 20 months old when my youngest, Justin was born. After Justin was born I had some nipple trauma from improper latch and I had to pump for a week on one side until it was healed. Jacob saw it on my bed at one time and decided that he better help mommy get milk for the baby. I guess he thought, if you cant beat them, join them. It was so cute."
"My son is Riley and he just adores his little sister Kiara - I had extreme nipple sensitivity with Riley as he was tongue-tied and combined with my sensitivity and mastitis every 2 months, it was a struggle, but well worth it. When Kiara came along 17.5 months later, same thing - tongue tied, but not so sensitive. Riley used to get her before I fed her to help me out as he didn't like seeing me in pain. Such a sweet little boy, and still 2 yrs on, still doting and loving towards her
- plus the occasional whack in the back on the head when i'm not looking! :) "
"She's in the right position but where's the milk at? "
"When I was 6 months pregnant with my second child, I took a short trip home to visit a dear friend. My 15 month old daughter, Lola, was still nursing at this time and during one of our sessions, my friend's daughter, 4 year old Ivey, decided to keep us company on the nursing couch. I love that her expression mirrors the oxytocin induced bliss phase of nursing. Ivey had recently become a big sister herself so she must have seen that look on her mom's face quite a bit."
"The picture is of me and my 3 girls who loved it when I nursed and they would bring their babies out so we could all do it together. The funny thing is they wanted little boppies too!! LOL"
"This is my daughter (then 22 months) pretending to nurse her baby as I was nursing her baby sister. She even used a pillow. A proud moment!"
"Why doesn't Daddy have any milk?"
"A picture of my 15 month old Olympia (who still nurses frequently) breast feeding her baby doll. She nurses all of her stuffed animals too! "
"My then 16 month old daughter received a baby doll for Christmas, to prepare her for her upcoming role as a big sister that was expected in February that year.
After we finished opening presents she wanted to settle down with a mid-morning nursing session. She insisted "Dolly" got the same privileges she was enjoying and refused to nurse that day unless Dolly got to nurse at the same time. 'All for one and one for all'"
Logan about 20 months old pretending to breastfeed a doll, his little brother Connor was a couple of months old.
Finally here's my 2 year old daughter pretending to nurse her baby doll. I hope this post made you smile or laugh. Its truly beautiful to see adorable little children being sweet loving mommies and daddies.
AWESOME!!!

ReplyDeleteSo amazing. Wonderful! My daughter does this all the time and i think it is the cutest!I'm proud of all of the women out there nursing their babies. It isn't always easy or fun, but that bond is a miracle and it should always be cherished.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this!
Those are all absolutely precious, in the most wonderful sense of the word. My youngest is 21 now, and I know that the many, many hours that my babies and I were so close helped create an incomparable bond between us.
ReplyDeleteLawl! My daughter still does that with her toys.
ReplyDeletethese are adorable. It makes you realize what a great role model you are when you breastfeed.
ReplyDeletemy almost-3 year old nurses his stuffed animals and dolls too!
ReplyDeleteMy 7 1/2 year old rough and tumble boy used to wander around the house with his tie-dyed teddy bear "Baby Bear" in the doll sling his grandmother made for him pretending to nurse. =D Emulating both nursing AND attachment parenting! Woot!

This is such wholesome and healthy mimicry. And so cute! Let there be more!
ReplyDeleteI love it! Especially the one where Daddy is trying to nurse. I offered to pay my husband substantially to let our son latch for just 10 seconds so he could see what it was like and he adamantly refused!
ReplyDeleteI loved the pic of the dad. My son used to always want to "num-num Daddy" after he got done nursing with Mama.
ReplyDeleteoh so sweet!
ReplyDeleteAs a grandmother many times over, I laughed out loud at some of these (the twin 'babies and the daddy nursing) and the rest of them made me smile. Such a wonderful experience for all concerned!
ReplyDeleteAwww, I miss those days! Mom with her three girls, you look just like me! I've never seen someone who looks so much like me, I had to look at the kids to make sure it wasn't!
ReplyDeleteThis post just made my morning!
ReplyDeleteWonderful! :-) That's how we bring it to the next generation.
ReplyDeleteI love those pics! I wish I had a camera handy the day my (now 22 y/o) daughter "gave birth and nursed her baby doll! It was the best. My mother was scandalized!!!! It was so wonderful to nurse my children-as they approach adulthood we still have a special bond.
ReplyDeleteToo sweet! I used to nurse my baby dolls as a toddler when my brother was born! Now I'm happily nursing my 8 month old 26 years later!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could have nursed my twins while walking around like that, it would have made things SO much easier. Beautiful pics!
ReplyDeleteLove it!! I have nursed dinosaurs and spiderman at my little ones' requests :)
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful, the start to great health!
ReplyDeleteI love all of these beautiful pictures and can't wait to see the pictures of the next generation doing this also. nursing is awesome :)
ReplyDeletethose are such cute pics wish i would have gotten pics of our daughter(now 22yrsold)when she would join me on the couch as i nursed her baby brother and say "i do it like mommy".she now has a 6 month old baby boy that she nursed.
ReplyDeleteThis is the cutest thing ever! Recently I saw my 4 year old mimic me as I was feeding her baby sister. It was adorable!
ReplyDeleteMy little girls, then 4 and 2, used to wrap up toys in dishtowels and I'd tie them around sling-style so they could nurse them and play at the same time. So funny that they imitated me with their newborn brother!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! I'm still breastfeeding my little girl, 16 months old, with no plans to stop any time soon. It's the best!
ReplyDeleteI particularly liked the one of the tandem feeder who was wandering around the house at the same time! If only.
ReplyDeleteFabulous blog spot. My son and I are nursing and he is nearly 18 months. So far I have refueled him, his cars, teddy and soft toy dog. My favourite picture is also the tandem feeder - she has got the technique!
ReplyDeleteThis was such an awesome post first thing in the morning! I forgot how much I loved the bond of breastfeeding until I had another baby 17 years later.
ReplyDeleteSo friggin' adorable! My little Xavier insisted I nurse his Curious George once, that was hilarious, this just reminds me to always keep the camera ready!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! my daughter did the same thing w/her babies when I was feeding her little sister! so sweet
ReplyDeleteThese are adorable pictures!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely Priceless! Thanks so much for sharing! You have brought back some warm wonderful memories!
ReplyDeleteLovely! I have similar pictures of my now 3 1/2 year old. The latest one is of her, half naked, sitting next to her baby brother, who she told me was "her" baby. "I took this off so he could have some BUBU" she told me :-)
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of something that happened at our house. I was sitting on the couch and my son was only about six weeks old, and lying on his back under his play gym on the floor. My three year old daughter was sitting next to him when he started to cry. Apparently, I didn't get up fast enough, because she sighed, pulled up her shirt, and tried to figure out how to breastfeed him!
ReplyDeleteawwww!
ReplyDeleteOh my goddess! these pics are too cute! I have a 2yo boy right now, & we are due in June, I wonder what he'll do when I start nursing!
ReplyDeleteThanks to all that posted pictures. They made my day. My son will be 12 mons. next week and I still nurse him. I'm glad there are so many moms that nurse over a year. I love the bond between my son; and what I had with my now almost 4year old daughter. My son tryed nursing from my husband a few times it was funny:)
ReplyDeleteThere pictures are just wonderful and have really made me smile. My daughter is 17months and doesn't often try to nurse her toys from herself but she likes to help her teddies and dolls nurse from me after she's had her milk!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is AWESOME! My 3 yr odl daughter does this as well (I have a 10 month old) and it's so freaking cute and makes me heart swell with pride and adoration.
ReplyDeleteMy first memory of breastfeeding, is the girl next door nursing her doll. She didn't say what she was doing, but I knew

The American Teddy Bear industry began as a cottage industry centered in the New York City area in the early 1900s. Most of the teddy bears created during this period were unmarked. Knowing how to identify these early teddies is essential for determining the value and authenticity of the many teddy bears being sold at antique shows and shops. bear names
